I am a Mooresville native and I love it here! I have been dancing for almost 18
years! I had been out of dance for about 4 years when I was approached to do In
His Steps! I have been with In His Steps since day 1. It has been exciting to
see how much this ministry has grown! The girls have taught me a lot about
myself! We may be the teachers, but when you think about it, they teach us in
the end! Seeing the girls love for God is one of the best feelings!! Working
with them has been such a rewarding experience!

I am originally from Bellingham, WA and moved to Mooresville in the fall of 2005. After finding the Cove Church and a life group that included Donna and Louis Smith, I was introduced to In His Steps Dance. Our life group began praying for Donna as she was hearing and following God’s plan for a girls dance ministry. I first saw the In His Steps girls in action at one of their end of session performances and I was hooked from then on! I knew that God was doing something HUGE with this ministry and I definitely wanted to be a part of it. In His Steps Dance is a fun, healthy, safe and life changing ministry that I am so honored to be a part of. Serving the Lord with a great team of dance coaches, mentors and girls is absolutely amazing! Another really cool thing is that unlike all of our other coaches on the team, I have no formal background in dance! So I am learning these dances right along with the girls. Together we are dancing for an audience of One and learning how to follow In His Steps!!

I have been rescued and called beloved by the Prince and now I live to serve and love Him with everything He has given me. One of the passions He has placed in my life is dance, so it’s been my desire to honor and glorify His name through this passion. I’ve been fortunate enough to dance since the age of 3, and I’ve loved every minute my feet move! I graduated from UNCC with a dance degree and am now still doing what I love with the girls of In His Steps. It’s been a blessing to watch these girls grow not only with their dance skills but spiritually as well. We’ve done many Outreach projects already declaring the love of Christ through the art of dance and I can’t wait to see where He takes these girls next! We will praise His Name with a dance!

I am a newlywed as of January 2010 and my husband and I live here in Mooresville. I am a senior at Western Carolina University, graduating in Dec 2010 with a degree in Middle School education. I have such a heart and a passion for girls ministry with a special fondness for middle school aged girls. I was looking for an outlet to serve and God literally hurled In His Steps Dance at me. My encounter with this ministry was such a divine appointment that I couldn't say no and every event that I've been able to be a part of has confirmed that I am in the right spot. I love these girls and this ministry. God is working in the lives of these girls and allowing them to share His message to others through dance

Originally from Virginia, I moved to Mooresville in 2007 to be with my husband and we found the Cove Church shortly thereafter. Dance was an important part of my life from age three until I graduated from high school in 2002. While looking for a way to get back involved with dance, I attended the Elevate Women event at the Cove. After seeing the dance coaches and IHS dancers put on this event, I knew that was where God called me to be. I volunteered to help and here I am, loving every minute of it, watching God work through each and every one!

I'm the wife to Mike and mother of Sophie. We have a blast as a family. God has given me great joy in movement and dance from a young age. I used to dream that someday he would use that talent for His glory but as an adult I really didn't find a place where dance was a part of my ministry mission. I dragged my sweet husband to swing dances and classes for fun and I focused on and developed my other, more adult passions: fitness, small group Bible study and accountability, being involved with women's ministry and children. Recently I fell into In His Steps. I can't call it anything but God because unlike at other times I wasn't looking for something to do. Even with gifts and talents to equip us in ministry when God calls He has big plans and challenges that we really can't handle alone. I've coached high school girls, was dance team captain in High School (please don't tell Donna it's been a long time) so I have a bit of an idea what dance is about. Enter Baby Steps... this precious group of girls are so fun, sensitive and innocent. This is no high school dance squad. Their dancing is the closest thing to heaven I've seen. I might be called to coach but oh what a blessing to learn as they (all the In His Step girls really) dance for Jesus. It's a beautiful thing to behold.

I am just somebody thats been saved by a God thats bigger than any of my problems. I am a member of the Cove. I have a passion for kids and I love watching them fall in love with Jesus. I have done some college but felt that I wasnt where I belonged. Instead I went to a Discipleship Training School (with YWAM) and has taught me how to seek Christ more and more. I love to dance and do dramas and get CRAZY for God! A generation is rising up and I am stoked to be a part! :)

I am passionate about seeing girls grow up loving the Lord with all their heart, all their soul, all their mind and all their strength. Seeing the way this world is alluring, I want to lead girls showing them only their King can TRULY satisfy. I’m a member of the Cove Church for 8 years. Out of my love for children, I have served in the children’s area since being a member. In 2009 I joined the first year of In His Steps, the same year I graduated high school. It’s such a delight to come back and teach. I have great expectations in faith that God is using this ministry to raise these girls to what they are called to be in this generation. After graduating high school, I went to a Discipleship Training School with YWAM. I love helping those in need wherever I am. Singing is a way I express my love to the Lord. I have a desire to see everyone worship in Truth and in Spirit. Photography is another big passion of mine, just as God gave light to the World in the beginning, I believe He brings His light through photography as well. It’s only with light that a picture can literally be captured. Dancing is something anyone can do, and I believe it’s a way to communicate. We will communicate God’s love!

I moved from Indiana to Mooresville in 2003 after marrying my husband. As a stay-at-home mother of four children, I have actively volunteered with a number of organizations including the Cove Church. My daughter joined In His Steps this fall after attending Elevate Junior. This will be my first semester as a dance coach, and my youngest daughter will be joining in as well! And while I don’t have formal dance training, I have a heart for Jesus and a calling on my life to help people find Him. I’m so excited to see God’s plan revealed for In His Steps! And it’s so cool to be a part of it!

I started dancing with In His Steps the spring of my sophomore year in High School. When I started I was in a pretty dark place, but God used IHS & the friends that I’ve made here to pull me out of that & bring me closer to Him. I’ve done drama and sign-language for most of my life, & have been into music since before I was born, but I had never danced before I came to IHS. I have seen firsthand the positive changes that come from learning how to use your talents for Christ & I’m passionate about seeing that type of change happen in as many girls as possible. IHS shares that same passion & so when I graduated I defintely wanted to remain involved. My heart is really for middle school to that's where my main focus is, but I also help out wherever I am needed.

Hi my name is Adrienne Jones and am so excited to be a part of the In His Steps team. I moved to Mooresville NC in August of 2008 from Delaware. I love it down here and am glad to be closer to family that moved here years before. Currently, I am in nursing school at the Cabarrus College of Health Sciences. I still have a few semesters left, but I feel that I finally found my calling :). I love to dance but have never had formal training, although my freshman year of college I tried competiting in Ballroom Dance. It was a lot of fun. I am also a part of the Cove Church and love it. In addition to volunteering with IHS, I work with the high school students for the Cove Student Ministry as a leader and MiPod leader. I also work with Outreach and help facilitate Griefshare, with particular attention to young people.
